The AreoGarden was a present for my wife for her birthday in July. I can not believe in one month how much this stuff grew. She planted Basil, Dill, and Thyme as her first starter herbs. Lucky for me I was able to cook first with the fresh Basil for dinner on Saturday (Thanks Babe!). Since I wanted to start with something basic I decided to cook up some Spaghetti for Andrew and me. I have never ever cooked with fresh basil before so it was a treat, to say the least. Normally I put basil in my sauce but its the dried boring stuff from the store in the bottle. To start off I diced up some fresh basil and fresh garlic and sauteed it in a pan with some Olive Oil and then added some fresh ground pork. I used my normal sauce in a jar and then dressed it up with a can of diced tomatoes. Put in some ground salt with pepper flake to spice it up a bit and then cooked the noodles, drained and added to the large pan and simmered for 5 minutes. Andrew told me “Goodie Goodie Daddy?” I think he liked it a bit 🙂
