So this year I made it a goal to rock my investment finances, you know the whole New Year Resolution thing. It all started in late December 2014 when I picked up the book MONEY Master the Game, 7 Steps to Financial Freedom by Tony Robbins. A very special thank you to my Boss for the recommendation, this book was been life-changing in terms of waking me up about my future and retirement. So after reading Tony’s words and getting fired up, I took care of an old Tradition IRA I had sitting doing nothing, I mean NOTHING!
One thing Tony shares is getting your money to work for you so I did some digging and found a tool called Betterment and signed up for an account and moved my Traditional IRA over and got it working for me. Since February it’s up 3.3%, so to say I am pleased is an understatement since it has been sitting dormant since 2004…you remember I said NOTHING! After really taking Tony’s words to heart I also started a Roth IRA with Betterment as well for the tax benefits.
Like all projects I really get into Betterment was just the first step. In my quest to learn more about investing I took the next step right into the stock market. Once I started being dazzled by the market I decided I need to find a tool to help me pick stocks and figure out trending companies to buy-in. While the tool I edited does not pick stocks for me, it does help me really crunch the data and see a good overall view of the NASDAQ Capital Markets (a.k.a. Penny Stocks) for trending stocks.
The tool I edited was based on all the hard work of Mukesh Chapagain. His tool was very easy, straight forward and a breeze to use. I just wanted to make it a little more user friendly so I added some features to it which I have listed in the readme. So while it may not be the greatest invention since sliced bread I give to you the PHP Stock Ticker.
